Going Green

At Goulds, we are committed to reducing waste and helping the environment which is why we are changing the way we operate our reward card scheme this spring. Now you are able to collect and redeem Reward points throughout all our stores and garden centre. You can then use these points on transactions over £1.

Even though we’re cutting down on our paper mailers, we still want to keep you informed about any in-store events and promotions. Ask in-store if you have any questions about this change or look online at.

In 2019 we are proactively trying to reduce the amount of plastic we use:

  • We have removed all plastic straws from our restaurants
  • Our bottled drinks are now made of glass or cartons
  • We now offer paper bags and long life bags
  • We sell duvets made from recycled plastics and coffee cups made from used paper cups

Plastic Carrier Bags

Since it was introduced in 2015, the 5p single use plastic carrier bag charge has been extremely successful in reducing the amount of plastic we use in our everyday lives. 15 billion plastic bags have been taken out of circulation!

As a small company we were previously exempt from the 5p charge. In 2019 we would like to try and do more to reduce our plastic waste. From March 2019 we will be voluntarily charging 5p for our plastic bags. Proceeds from this will be going to our charity of the year.

Last year we introduced new 're-useable bags' to make this swap easier. These are available at all till points and cost just £1.
