The original home of British Brewing following a brewing tradition originally started by Benedictine monks, when they founded a monastery in Cerne Abbas

Dorset based brewery

The Cerne Abbas Brewery is set in the chalky hills of the Cerne Valley. This is the original home of British Brewing and follows a brewing tradition originally started by Benedictine monks, when they founded a monastry in Cerne Abbas.

The ancient art of brewing was prolifically practiced by the brothers of the Abbey, where it was made famous for its exceptional beer production. This is due to the green and sandy geology of the area which makes the water supremely ideal for beer making. They use exceptional ingredients to recreate the authentic original recipe that Cerne Abbas was so famous for.

Their brewery is now located just down the hill from the infamous Cerne Abbas Giant, a bold landmark left by Anglo-Saxons, that features on the design of the brewery’s bottle.

Their passion for great beer accompanied with their wealth of experience and understanding of the process and art of brewing, means that their beer is unrivalled in terms of quality. Their beer has been the official winner of the CAMRA Beer Festival 2014, as well as a multitude of their prestigious brewing awards.
